On our way out of town, the battery saga began. :) |
Hmmm. Thought we got it fixed. |
Nope. |
Not yet. |
In the end....Carver changed SEVEN batteries on our way from Nashville to Iowa! A prompt appointment was made at the Ford shop to fix the alternator we just replaced. :) Never a dull moment. |
With the battery saga and a detour through Illinois, it took 12 hours to get there but WOW! We sure loved our LAST night at Wal-Mart and our first night being local! |
What a hoot to see everyone pile out and start taking dominion over some corner of this place. Christian started up a tree. :) |
Chapman started in on crate relocation. |
Carver started working on one of the shops. |
Carolina was SO happy about her little garden spot. Previous owners left a collection of tomatoes and cucumbers! |
Yay for garden fresh salsa! |
Brotherly mission to check things out in the yard. |
Our ONE thrilling day in a real kitchen before the cabinets left and the ceiling was pulled down! |
Demolition for boys is just THE greatest thing ever?! |
Pondered how to work with what was there. Final verdict: everything goes! |
Perhaps we'll just keep it simple. Ha. Pantry will go behind where the stove is. |
Winter lettuce and asparagus planting with a friend. |
Charlie bravely tackled the floors. |
He found hardwood everywhere! Only like a trampoline in only one place. :) |
Fueled by the staples of life. :) |
Carver on the vacuuming committee. |
Christian was Mr. Sandman. |
Sunday afternoon break for fellowship and dinner with sweet friends! |
Love our little park in the yard! :) |
More happy fellowship! |
Especially inspiring when it includes ice cream. Guess which poor child had a mother that told him NO dairy products or SUGAR?! |
More painting and floor fixing. Someone had WAY too much time on their hands! |
The next layer had the matching window behind the wall. We knew it was there somewhere!! |
Filled our first dumpster in one day flat. :) |
Crosby's Coconut Cream Berry Smoothie. Much better than sardines! :) |
Balancing and painting are important skills. If you happen to have BOTH you get the job. :) |
Post Bus Stress Removal by the brothers. |
The previous owners left this and Mama's heart just SANG! Their own spot to swing and hang and yodel and holler?! Yay! |
Collecting supplies for the pile of projects. |
Crosby's flower from the yard. |
So happy...a little forest walking trail down the road. |
The first week of dinners looked about like this! :) |
Seeing the light. We think. :) First bedrooms almost done except for replacing fans. |
Butter is Daddy's personal assistant. You might guess his favorite part is the mask. :) |
Yay for brick walls! |
Discussion and demolition continues! |
Praising the Lord... amazing warm weather. And so beautiful! |
6 acres. 6 boys. Push mower. Perfect! |
Oh...the cuteness! |
Absolutely amazing view from the silo (SILO?!) behind the shop. |
Love the silhouette. Kinda like "Fiddler on the Roof". :) |
Keeps Mama from getting lost because she can see it from FAR away. :) |

Ahhh! That's so exciting that y'all have a home! And it's gorgeous! I'm sure you're all loving being settled down (a bit... 😄).

Oh, you know, just over here mopping up buckets of TEARS OF JOY...still can't believe all this!! So much rejoicing in the Lord's goodness + what He is doing. Having y'all in Iowa is...just as good as it gets! Beyond happy!
I love the mug + sardines. =) We need to get y'all some real cream though. =) And obviously a bucket of icecream for Chitch. (WHY did Denver get a cone and he didn't?!) Love Lina's garden and the paint covered boys...and the "progress" photo of the white walls + black floors is so classy!
Beautiful post Cass. Love y'all loads...Welcome to Iowa. =) =) =)
How wonderful! So happy that y'all found a home (in beautiful Iowa!!) and I know y'all are thrilled with it!! May God bless y'all with many happy years there, celebrating life together!
Blessings,

WELCOME!! We rejoice in what God has done. :)
Wow! So happy to hear of the Lord's direction and provision. It looks like a lovely place!
This is BEAUTIFUL!!! I am so looking forward to seeing your Iowa home (WHAT!!??) and your dear selves soon. God is so good.
love,
Allison
WONDERFUL!!
Your "Little Blue Farmhouse" is turning into quite the oasis!! it's still standing from 1870, so they builders did something right! :)
I love the hardwood floors, brick wall, details around the doors and windows... can't wait to see the kitchen transformation - so many awesome changes!
And, what an incredible blessing to have such kind neighbors and instant friends to bless you and help with the demo, clean up, etc. WOW, God is SO good!!
Poor Lauren... i know that driving a trillion more miles is not what she had in mind, but I am praying that God sustains her on the umpteen shopping runs to keep everyone fueled with supplies and appropriate goodies!! Tell Chich, Crocky, Frank and Veet that Aunt Pandy suspects some fiddlin' is goin' on... get back to work! LOL - Little Gingy-bug is as cute and industrious as ever, tell her i want a bite of that Berry-fabulous-ness she was holding...and WAY better than Sardines!! Butter's mask is super official and makes him look like a very capable assistant to your dear Papa who is HARD at work (as usual). Charlie is hard at work too I see, bless his heart... only 11 million carpet staples to pull?? AUGH!! but... the lovely hardwood!! :)
I know that Lina and Cass are diligently keeping everyone fed, clothed, encouraged and organized! Bless you!!
Prayers are abounding for you all from Florida!! I love you all SO much and am rejoicing with you for God's amazing provision of this perfectly wonderful abode in a great community and fellowship of believers!
Please take care of each other and hang in there! Can't wait to come for a visit and see all you have done... let me know when the paint is dry and the welcome mat is out! :) I'll be on the next flight! xoxo
Love you ever, ever so! xo,
Pandy
Oh how wonderful!! I'm so happy for y'all. We are praying for you. It looks like y'all have been VERY busy! Sending prayers and love, the Birdwell!
Eeek!!! So much happy!! God is so good. :)
We love you guys and are so happy for you all. It's neat to see you are so excited by all that work you have to do. Taking dominion!
So that's why the weather has been so warm. And some people say it was from "global warming", but we know now that God was keeping it warm so you could do your remodeling! That explains everything!
Love to visit you sometime in the near future.
