In Iowa with the Bontrager Family

The Bontragers are one of our very favorite singing families! This year they kindly invited us to their 13th Annual Turning Hearts Celebration, and we truly loved our time with them.

Curtis spoke several times and our family sang for about 30 minutes following a wonderful day of fellowship and festivities with friends from around the US and Canada.

Their family of 12 runs an amazing farm in Iowa, which is where we stayed.
We first met them when they came to our house in their really big BUS, which gave us the idea that we could do the same thing!

The Mama's visiting corner
Charlie and Carson chopping away!

Sweet girls. :)
Chelsy and Lina
Carver getting a milking lesson
Very big silo. Got to watch a calf being born from the bus!
Hudson bottle feeding the calves
Several days old...very sweet and tame.

Charlie teaching a little Jujitsu

Some of several hundred who came for the day
Charlie singing "Immortal, Invisible"
Edelwiess. Always love anything Sound of Music!
Bontragers introducing each other
Youngest ones...sooo cute and very fun to listen to.
To say they "play instruments" is the understatement of the year. They play ALL instruments, and incredibly well.
Loved their concert and were very inspired to get to work on our fiddles. They also memorize huge portions of Scripture to recite. Joshua (on the end in blue) did a stunning recitation of Psalm 27.
Night volleyball
Night football. :)
Huge Amish influence in this part of Iowa. Love the laundry line project, hosted by Chelsy.
Boys chatting and eating.
One of many Amish buggies that passed by during the weekend. As for the cow....she had the calf shortly there after.
Almost everybody in the bus...
Denver is quite the scholar. Gave him Poppy's book, which he probably finished before dinner. :)
Sweet friends Becky and Marlin (the Momma and Daddy) who blessed us hugely with their gracious hospitality and wonderful example

Here is the link to the Bontrager Family Blog and their website where you can order their family's really fantastic CDs!

Aww!! This is so sweet! Y'all are too kind, really! It was OUR PLEASURE to have your family here-y'all were such an inspiration and the testimonies have been rolling in ever since Monday-God was mightily at work through your family's music and speaking and EXAMPLE and lives are being changed because of it! PTL!
Hugs & Hellos from our clan to yours!
